Over the last few seasons, the University of North Texas athletic program has been at the forefront of graphic identities in Collegiate sports. The continued and tireless work by the creative staff and students, who were led by Brett Gemas and Nic Johnson, pushed the program to the top of social media and were featured by creative services such as SkullSparks and Trenches.

Heading into the 2020-2021 academic year, the administration has determined it best that the program move to reimagine the North Texas Athletic identity. This proposal is in response to the call for change by the directors of creative content.
To maintain an elite social media and marketing brand, the components to that identity need to be vast enough to express all the necessary information while still feeling interconnected enough to work within itself. To achieve the simpler, more elegant look that administrators wanted while attempting to maintain versatility, the brand uses two typefaces, rectangles/boxes, and the occasional brush stroke for vanity or framing purposes.
As shown by the graphic above, the brand of the classic green, black, and white is evolving into a deeper and more modern look by using overlays. To be specific:

- A "plastic wrap" texture
- color grain
- a concrete grunge texture
- a curves adjustment layer to lighten the blackest point
- a color lookup, Kodak 5218 Kodak 2395 (by Adobe)
- and a spec light, to add a sense of space and depth, especially with regards to player cutouts.
Although this concept is for all of UNT Athletics, at the time of this brand proposal football season is right around the corner. As the school's flagship program, it is necessary to maintain a high amount of content while remaining high quality. The ideas presented for gameday graphics and so forth are simply the most basic ideas, but convey the general hierarchy that should be maintained across all social and marketing platforms.
This part is only partial, and that is because by nature things need to happen in order for tings to be made about them. A birthday graphic and separate Quote Thursday template that can be used for all programs is below, as well as a football watchlist graphic and mask-related COVID-19 graphic.
This section is almost completely bare, but will be updated before every Wednesday with new material in accordance with the "Wallpaper Wednesday" trend on twitter. It is suggested a new webpage be created on the UNT athletics page dedicated to containing full-size wallpapers. Marketing materials will not be included in this short proposal.
